Governance

CGCER is led by its Co-Directors, Dr. Lynette Shultz who is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Educational Policy Studies and Dr. Anna Kirova, who is a full-time faculty member in the Department of Elementary Education. CGCER is accountable to the Governing Council and the Dean of the Faculty of Education. 

The role of the Governing Council is to direct the policies and activities of the centre and ensure that the initiatives of the Centre fall within its mandate. 

The Advisory Committee members act in a consultative capacity to assist and advise the Director and the Governing Council regarding CGCER's activities. The Advisory Committee has representation from faculty members, graduate students and undergraduate students at the University of Alberta and other universities, as well as representation from community-based and non-governmental organizations located both in Canada and internationally.
